Portugal 2010: Castles, cathedrals and not a golf course in sight!

April 2010 and six of us go to Portugal, despite the best efforts of an ash-spewing Icelandic volcano for a week in Villa Adriana near Obidos, around an hour outside Lisbon.

There was plenty of time to explore some impressive sights on the Silver Coast including several castles, cathedrals, sandy beaches and quaint whitewashed towns.

Lubricating the entire trip was a vast quantity of red wine, not to mention the local cherry liquour.
